Valentine's Social was held February 10, 2010 at 6 PM at Golf's Steak House.

On Monday, December 14, 2009 approximately 150 children and adults congregated at the West Montrose Covered Bridge for the annual Carol Sing. A good time was had by all.

On Saturday, December 5, 2009 the Elmira Santa Claus Parade made its way through downtown Elmira under cool sunny conditions. Record crowd lined both sides of Arthur Street.

A very successful Food Drive was held on Saturday, November 21, 2009. Over 160 volunteers helped collect nearly 12,000 pounds of non-perishable food and other items. Thanks to those that donated and thanks to those that canvassed the vast region of Woolwich Township and parts of Wellesley Township.

BEAT ROCKS THE BLOCK was held July 25, 2009 in Downtown Kitchener. Our club ran a food booth at the event from 1 PM to 11 PM.

Kiwanis Dragon Boat Festival of Waterloo Region was held Saturday, July 18, 2009 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Laurel Creek Conservation Area.

Kiwanis Lobsterfest was held on Saturday May 30, 2009 at Lion's Hall in Elmira. A great time was had by all.

Elmira Maple Syrup Festival was held Saturday April 4, 2009. Weather was definitely a factor. The cold and windy conditions contributed to less than stellar results.

The Eastern Canada Key Club Convention was held April 3-5, 2009 at the Waterloo Inn. Everyone who attending had an awesome time. Can't wait for next year.

The West Montrose Covered Bridge Carol Sing was held on Monday December 15, 2008 from 7 - 8 PM. Song sheets, hot cider and cookies were provided free of charge. Donations of non-perishable food in support of the Kiwanis Food Drive were accepted. (It was a cold night)

The Family Christmas Party was a tremendous success. It was held on December 10, 2008 starting at 6:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion. Over 100 members,families and friends and chidren attended. Santa Claus made an appearance.

ELMIRA KIWANIS SANTA CLAUS PARADE was a huge success this past Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 10 AM until 11:30 AM.

For the first time ever the Kiwanis Club of Elmira was running the Santa Claus Parade. Oh sure, we've always had a float in the parade but this year we were the organizers of the new Kiwanis Santa Claus Parade. The Jaycees ran the parade for years but alas the Jaycees no longer exist but the parade continues to live on and is ably organized by former Jaycee and now an Elmira Kiwanis Club member Lyndon Ziegel.

A very successful Woolwich Goodwill Food Drive was held Saturday November 22, 2008 from 9 AM until noon.

From all accounts the Wellesley Apple Butter and Cheese Festival that was held on Saturday September 27, 2008 was a great success. It was overcast and it drizzled part of the day but otherwise the weather did not seem to deter the people from coming out and enjoying our potato pancakes and the other food items that we were selling.

Due to inclement weather the Elmira Street Dance was cancelled.

A number of Kiwanis members participated at the Fergus Truck Show held July 24-27, 2008.

At the Beat Rocks the Block event in downtown Kitchener the club ran a very profitable food booth on July 26, 2008.

A very successful Kiwanis Dragon Boat Festival of Waterloo Region was held Saturday, July 19, 2008.

Lobsterfest was held on Saturday May 31, 2008. From all accounts it was a tremendous success. Over $8,000 was raised for local projects. Go to the Photos tab and click on Lobsterfest to see photos of this year's event.

On May 14, 2008 Charter Night was held for the Huron Heights Key Club at the Concordia Club. The Kiwanis Club of Elmira is sponsoring the Key Club.

Governor Chuck visited Division 5E May 7-9, 2008. He came to Elmira in the afternoon on May 7 and had a tour of Kiwanis Transit, Kiwanis House and saw the construction site of the Woolwich Memorial Centre. The Gala Dinner was held on Friday May 9 at the Galt Country Club.

Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Woolwich Memorial Centre

Representatives from girls’ hockey, boys’ hockey, ringette, figure skating, youth, seniors and swimming, were on hand on Dec. 12 for the official groundbreaking of the Woolwich Memorial Centre. Melloul-Blamey was awarded the contract for the complex, which will be completed by Sept. 2009.
